San Francisco-based Gap Inc. is looking to roll out around 30 stores in Latin America by 2014, according to www.wwd.com. This announcement follows the recent opening of the company’s first-ever Mexico City location. The 10,000-sq.-ft. standalone store, located in Interlomas Mall, houses the Gap, GapKids and babyGap collections. The company plans to open additional stores in Mexico in Mexico City’s Atizapan Mall in late September, and in Satelite quarter and Guadalajara in October. Gap also is looking to debut in Brazil within the next two years, and hopes to enter Colombia and Uruguay, as well as expand its presence in Chile.
