Wal-Mart to Open Neighborhood Market in Los Angeles

Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-mart Stores Inc. will open a Neighborhood Market in Los Angeles’ Panorama City district, according to www.supermarketnews.com. The store will be the first of a number of the smaller-format Neighborhood Markets slated to open in Southern California. The 31,000-sq.-ft. store is scheduled to open by the end of 2012. The company also plans to open a Neighborhood Market in the Chinatown section of downtown Los Angeles early next year.
