Chemetal Introduces Solar Energy Initiatives

Easthampton, Mass.-based laminate provider Chemetal has announced that it has added 560 new solar panels to partially power its operations. The company expects that the 201 kW solar project will offer nearly 35 percent of its annual electricity to offset more than 200 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year.

“We began seriously considering solar when we doubled the size of our facility in 2016,” says Geoff Schaefer, Chemetal president and creative director. “The financial incentives were beneficial, as was the opportunity to reduce our carbon footprint with renewable energy.”
