Department Stores Gear Up for Singles’ Day

November 11 will see six of the country’s largest department stores celebrating Singles’ Day, a Cyber Monday-adjacent event for luxury brands. Brands such as Lancome, Gilt, and Rue La La are among more than 200 other upscale distributors participating, offering merchandise through Dealmoon.com aimed at Chinese-American shoppers.

Since launching officially in 2013, Singles’ Day has continued to grow in popularity. Sales in 2014 surpassed Cyber Monday by four times. Items will be offered from 25 to 80 percent off as well as half-off deals from many retailers.
