Hermès Launches New Munich Flagship
March 17, 2017
Parisian luxury brand Hermès is celebrating its 30th year in Germany with the opening of its relocated and enlarged flagship in a historic Friedrich Bürklein-designed structure in Munich. The site of the new store also will double as the company’s German headquarters.
The three-floor, 6,900-sq.-ft. interior embraces original structural details like walls from the 13th century. The massive outpost displays 16 Hermès product categories including fragrances—a first for Germany, according to wwd.com. All three floors are linked via a handcrafted terrazzo spiral staircase accented with cherry wood and bronze-toned railings. Cherry wood also is used to craft the central floor-to-ceiling partition.
