Hoakalei Retail Plans Announced

Haseko Development has rolled out plans for a waterside retail, dining, and entertainment center at the Hoakalei development on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. The $300 million complex is slated to house roughly 215,000 sq. ft. of retail, featuring more than 110 establishments in the resort project’s Wai Kai section.

Spread across 10 volumes, the experiential marketplace also will accommodate seven major restaurants, a 10,000-sq.-ft. specialty market, and a 15,000-sq.-ft. health club and spa. Water gardens, manicured lawns and lantern-lit, tree-canopied pedestrian walkways will line the shops and cafes.

Architects from CallisonRTKL’s Seattle office and the team from Hawaiian firm G70 are assisting on the project, which was developed by San Francisco- and New York-based design firm Hart Howerton.
