    Looking to find all of the industry’s players in one room at one time? Look no further. The Planning and Visual Education Partnership (PAVE) continues the tradition in celebrating student education at this year’s PAVE BASH on GlobalShop’s opening night.

    The one-of-a-kind event will be held at one of Chicago’s premier venues, Untitled Supper Club, a truly unique escape from any ordinary nightlife experience. The opening night BASH celebrating PAVE combines music, food, cocktails and entertainment.

  • Join the festivities and honor great design at the annual Shop! Awards Celebration, Wednesday, March 28 from 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at McCormick Place (Ballroom 196). The 2018 Shop! Awards Celebration will include the Design Awards (excellence in retail design), OMAs (the most innovative and effective in-store and point-of-purchase displays) and Global Awards (the “best of the best” in point-of-purchase, advertising display, marketing-at-retail activation and retail design from previous Gold Winners from around the world).   • The Experience Journey returns to GlobalShop for the second year. Following the theme “Inspired Retail,” a collection of exhibitors will offer attendees immersive experiences out on the show floor.

    And keep your eyes open for the daily Golden Ticket, which will be hidden somewhere along the Experience Journey or elsewhere on the show floor. Check @GlobalShopShow and #GlobalShop on social media for clues on where the Golden Tickets may be found. The first person to find a ticket each day wins a prize!

  • GlobalShop has partnered with The Magnificent Mile Association for the “Windows of The Magnificent Mile” program during GlobalShop. The program will feature window displays from 15-20 retailer members of the association with décor and visual materials provided by GlobalShop exhibitors. The window displays will be unveiled with a “big reveal” the first morning of GlobalShop, March 27, and will remain on display through the month of April.   • The 2018 PAVE Booth Design Challenge is a project that brings together some of the best student design talent with store fixture manufacturers and their retail brand clients, for a live presentation at GlobalShop in PAVE Booth 4096.

    The clients present real-life design problems to the students who, in turn, must address these problems and offer solutions. The best designs are chosen and are built by the manufacturers to be displayed within a prominent exhibit at GlobalShop. The students who design the winning entries will be brought to Chicago to present their work in person. Stop by and support these hardworking and talented student teams.

  • The IIDA Product Design Competition is a highlight of GlobalShop, honoring manufacturers and designers for advancements in innovation, function and aesthetics in product design for the retail industry. Winners of GlobalShop 2018’s competition will be announced Tuesday, March 27 at 3 p.m. at the IIDA booth (#3451).

    Cheryl Durst, IIDA’s executive vice president and CEO, also will be hosting a discussion in the booth. Check the GlobalShop Daily for times.
