• Street fashion store, Soap Opera, is located at Kemps Corner, an upscale neighborhood of South Mumbai, India. It was up to Mumbai-based practice MuseLAB Design Engine to create a functional space that would be able to hold a lot of inventory. The façade features a canopy, with sunshine yellow doors.

  • The narrow, 300-sq.-ft space has an open central path with display on either side and some display down the center toward the back. A loft space provides storage for inventory not on display. The racking display system was customized to allow flexibility of adding and removing the glass shelves as and when required.

  • The previous vinyl flooring was ripped out and the floor was tiled in a paver-like fashion to allow for a street-like shopping experience.

  • The walls are painted in a blast of teal and white. A simple shelving system in teak veneer was added to the front of the store for display of accessories.

  • A colorful yet rustic installation hangs above the accessories area at the front of the store.
