Brickell Centre Prepares for Grand Opening in Miami

After four years of construction, Miami’s Brickell Centre is preparing for its big debut tomorrow, presenting its first group of stores. More than 100 stores will showcase their concepts Nov. 3, with the majority of them officially opening their doors over the next few weeks. Guests to the new 5000,000-sq.-ft., three-level, open-air complex will enjoy high-end retail, dining, and entertainment, anchored by the city’s first Saks Fifth Avenue location in three decades.

Luxury brands will be situated on street level with additional outposts opening on the second and third floors. The center will include the U.S.’s first CMX theater, the sixth largest cinema chain on the planet. Miami’s first Italian food hall will also span three floors upon opening in 2017.

The architectural crown of the project will be the innovative Climate Ribbon, a $30 million elevated trellis of steel, glass, and fabric designed to harness Miami’s breezes and deflect sunlight. Brickell Centre is the largest privately funded project in the United States. When complete, the $1.05 billion mixed-use complex will span nine acres.
