Winning Windows Deadline Approaching

The winter holiday season in Manhattan is like no other. Each year, retailers add to holiday cheer by welcoming both New Yorkers and tourists alike into a magical world, complete with store windows that stop passersby in their tracks. The legacy continues, and design:retail would like to offer retailers another chance to let their storefronts shine by entering the annual Winning Windows contest, which recognizes the best of New York’s holiday window designs. The design:retail editorial staff will judge window displays of retailers’ flagship stores in the city, and then highlight the storefronts that best capture the holiday spirit as well as demonstrate exceptional visual merchandising. We invite you to accept the challenge and show us your best!

Windows will be viewed on Dec. 5 by the judges and evaluated in the following three categories: originality and creativity, spirit of the season, and professionalism (execution and technical aspects, including lighting, mechanics, signing/copy, and mannequin and/or merchandise presentation). Awards will be announced and presented at the PAVE Gala dinner at the Duggal Greenhouse in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Wednesday, Dec. 7.
