Coach Inc. Rebrands as Tapestry

New York-based handbag and accessories company Coach Inc. has announced it has rebranded its corporate name to Tapestry. The decision to rebrand comes as part of an effort to entice younger consumers and to also reflect its full spectrum of product offerings beyond its signature handbags, according to CBS News. The change will go into effect on October 31.

The company has made strides in recent years to expand its portfolio beyond the Coach brand, purchasing shoe brand Stuart Weitzman for $574 million two years ago, and accessories brand Kate Spade for $2.4 billion earlier this year.

The Coach brand will remain in tact under the Tapestry corporate umbrella.
