Cords&Co. Set to Arrive in New York

Swedish premium corduroy brand Cords&Co. will introduce its first New York store along Spring Street in SoHo. The company’s sixth international outpost, the 484-sq.-ft. location is crafted alongside Swedish architecture firm In Praise of Shadows to include a material palette that references corduroy as a key element of the brand.

“We are excited to take our disruptive vision for corduroy to New York City,” said Mikael Soderlindh, cofounder of Cords&Co. “As a fashion capital and unrivaled hub for street culture, pop culture and the arts, it is a natural new home for the brand in so many ways. We can’t wait to introduce ourselves to the New York City customer as the corduroy alternative to denim.”

According to wwd.com, the store will include a dedicated space for in-store artist collaborations, and will include works from New York-based artist Curtis Kulig.

Cords&Co. operates stores in London; Los Angeles; Paris; Venice, Italy; and Stockholm.
