Retail Sales Leap Nearly One Percent in March

Retail sales in the United States rose 0.6 percent last month—the largest increase since November 2017. CNBC reports that the Department of Commerce revealed that the sale of cars, furniture and appliances impacted the boost after three months of declining sales. Auto sales increased 2 percent in March, which is its largest jump in six months.

CNBC also reports that healthy consumer confidence is anticipated to continue along with steady job gains. Increased sales were indicated at grocery stores, drugstores, and restaurants and bars as well.
