Bold colors and graphic elements are the signature of Spanish interior design and branding studio Masquespacio. In their second shop for the cellphone repair and accessories company Doctor Manzana (translation: Doctor Apple), the studio took both to the max.
“First of all, we wanted the space to transmit the brand image already created a few years ago,” says Christophe Penasse, co-founder of Masquespacio. “On the other hand, it was important as a repair shop to connect the design to the technology factor through the use of metal. However, we still wanted the space to be attractive for a wide audience adding some vivid colors.”
Along with the 54-degree element (inspired by the angles of a touchscreen) established when Masquespacio whipped up a brand reinvention for the Valencia-based brand back in 2013, the approximately 580-sq.-ft. store uses the brand’s recognizable salmon, blue-green and purple from floor to ceiling in bold strokes. While the first—a nod to fashionistas—designates the reception area, the latter colors (referencing doctors and geeks, respectively) distinguish an area separated by a transparent plastic curtain that will be used for workshops and talks. From the metal-topped display tables to the tube-shaped lights, the studio is behind all of the furnishings and fixtures inside this hyper-color wonderland.
Cell phone repair never looked so good.
